200 block met (plus 50 made into step 2)

Just a update on these cute little squares. I am so happy how they are turning out! I try to hand sew somewhere around ten and evening. It is fun taking the inch blocks and using different combinations.
Here are some pictures.

Progress report...

I have completed 156 - 9 patches. They are all hand sewen and are scraps. I try to do about 10 a night when Whiskers is sitting on my lap. They go pretty quick and love selecting the fabric to go into the blocks. I estimate the quarter inch, but after pressing I trim them to 2 inches. They are pretty cute. 50 I have put into blocks to see how they look at next step. But want to go step by step as is a great portable sewing project. Here is a picture of a few of them. (First 100)...
The color is not great as took this early evening.

The beginning

This first picture was posted on facebook and has inspired me to take on this quilt. It fits my profile: small pieces (1 inch blocks), use of scraps, ability to hand sew and addictive.
This quilt was designed by Susan H Garman. I ordered the pattern and received it this past week. Ohmygosh is a great name for this quilt. Slow, tedious and addictive. I have a ice cream bucket of 2 inch squares, cut apart they would be 4 squares. I have many colors and creams and whites. So I began cutting and last evening I made 7 (9 patches). I will press them tomorrow and then put a sample block together. I will do them by hand and assemble 9patches as I go. I will need 550 9 patches. Let's see how long until I reach this goal...my guess...beginning of next summer. I will be doing 2 mystery quilts Enid of this year into beginning of next. This would be a good take along project on travels to Arizona in February til April. I am also doing the addictive quilt Dutch treat which is applique. So this is the beginning!
